Services and Pricing
Research. A Little Research charges $120 for single a literature search (see Power Consumption of the Raspberry Pi for an example). Research briefs will be prepared for a cost of $120 per article covered by the brief. Where a large number of articles are available on a topic, articles chosen may be a representative sample of sub-topics (existing literature reviews where available). Links will be provided to open access versions of original articles where available, or to original publisher summaries otherwise.
Writing & Software Development. Rates will be negotiated on a base-by-case basis, consistent with the prevailing rates for senior software engineers in the State of New South Wales. I most often quote a day rate but can make other arrangements as required.
Intellectual Property
Research. Clients and their agents may retain and use reports completed by A Little Research as they see fit but may not re-publish reports in whole or in part except by prior arrangement. A Little Research retains the right to use completed reports for its own purposes including re-publication.
Writing & Software Development. Ownership of intellectual property will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Payment
Literature searches. Payment is due within seven days of an invoice being issued to the client. The report will be delivered to the client within two business days of payment being received.
Research briefs. A Little Research requests that clients make an up-front non-refundable payment of half the total fee before commencing work. The remainder of the fee is due within seven days of an invoice being issued to the client. The report will be delivered to the client within two business days of payment being received.
Other work. A Little Research can arrange monthly invoicing for on-going work, or invoicing upon reaching milestones by prior agreement with the client.
Client Confidentiality
A Little Research collects (i) contact details and (ii) business and engineering information related to the work to be carried out. A Little Research may use such information in carrying out work requested by clients, including use of non-identified information as search terms in third-party databases, but will not otherwise transmit information obtained from a client to a third party without the explicit permission of that client. A Little Research may consider more specific Non-Disclosure Agreements proposed by clients on a case-by-case basis.
